Every now and then, I usually need a sweet treat at the end of the day—no matter how small—be it a tres leches cake, a maple candy, or an under-eye mask. After a long day, nothing screams relaxation and peace quite like a soothing, silky mask supercharged with ingredients that brighten, smooth, and calm. After all, the eye area is so fragile and goes through so much.
“The skin under the eyes can get super dehydrated with lack of sleep, inadequate water intake, sun exposure, aging, or even just a poor skin care routine,” explains Kristin Gunn, a celebrity aesthetician and the owner of Halcyon Skincare and Beaux Medspa in Austin, TX. However, applying under-eye patches is just one small thing you can do daily to rehydrate the skin in that area and improve its appearance.
The best under-eye patches can address dark circles from too many late nights and puffiness from indulging in irresistible salty snacks (calling myself out here). They’re also pros at firming the eye area and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Even though the results are usually temporary, they’re such a low-lift product that you’ll have no problem incorporating them into your everyday skin care routine. Combine that with the cutting-edge technology of the best Korean skincare brands, and you have incredible patches that offer results mirroring your favorite Korean face masks.
Our top picks for the best Korean under eye patches of 2024
As always, we spoke to several skin care experts and combed through customer reviews to determine the five best Korean under-eye patches to keep you looking youthful and refreshed, no matter how much sleep you got the previous night. Below, you’ll also find expert insights on how often and when to use them.
Pros
Lightweight
Plumping
Adheres well to the skin
Cons
Serum can take some time to sink in
“Mixsoon’s collagen hydrogel eye patches focus on moisture and firming,” explains Sarah Chung Park, the CEO of Landing International. “They treat dark circles, fine lines, and puffiness.” If you’ve fallen in love with the viral Korean collagen face masks like the rest of us and want to give your under eyes the same treatment, these patches are certainly worth a try.
Key ingredients: Collagen
Count: 30 pairs
Amazon rating: 4.3/5 stars
An Amazon reviewer says: “These eye patches ended up feeling even nicer and more soothing than I expected. And I do think my under eye area looked brighter, and maybe even smoother and less puffy, too. I left them on for longer than the suggested time because I put them on at night when I was reading a book. But they never dried out or felt uncomfortable. They were actually very pleasant to use. There’s also a ton of them in the container, so I think they will last me a very long time. I’m a big fan of all of the Mixsoon products I have tried so far. So I’m glad this was another hit!”
Pros
Depuffing
Firms the skin
Cons
Can have a learning curve
Korean skin care companies are usually lightyears ahead in terms of innovation, and this product is a prime example. “This new type of under-eye patch delivers hydrolyzed collagen to the under-eye area,” says Chung Park. “It is not kept on like a hydrogel mask, but rather it transfers the collagen powder directly to the under eye area.” Essentially, you spray the brand’s Collagen Serum Mist on your face and apply the patches to the desired areas of treatment. As the patches make contact with the serum, they turn transparent and melt right into the skin, so there’s nothing to take off afterward. Over time, your skin will look firmer and smoother. This kit includes patches for your under eyes as well as larger areas of your face.
Key ingredient: Collagen
Count: 6 patches
Amazon rating: 3.4/5 stars
An Amazon reviewer says: “This product is amazing! It works in a completely different way from the products I’ve used before, but the results are incredible. I know sheet masks are good for the skin, but personally, I don’t enjoy using them much because they feel a bit uncomfortable while sitting on my face. However, this product is so convenient—it hydrates your skin first, and then it absorbs completely when applied, making it much more comfortable to use. I’ve been using it on my forehead, and the next day, the fine lines I was worried about noticeably fade. It’s super easy to use and delivers great results, so I think I’ll keep buying this product for a while!”

Pros
Best bang for your buck
Serum absorbs easily into the skin
Cons
Some may dislike scent
Petitfee’s Gold Hydrogel Eye Patch is one of Gunn’s favorites. “These Korean eye patches contain colloidal gold, a hot new ingredient for combating wrinkles and dehydrated skin,” she says. “This formula regenerates the skin, reducing puffiness and helps brighten the overall eye area.”
Key ingredients: Colloidal gold, ginseng
Count: 60 patches
Amazon rating: 4.5/5 stars
An Amazon reviewer says: “I use these most mornings—I have very heavy bags every day. These truly smooth out the appearance and help improve the look of swollen and tired eyes. I have never experienced any sensitivity or bad reactions—they have not irritated my eyes or skin at all, and I have sensitive skin that reacts easily.”
Pros
Depuffing
Boosts skin barrier
Cons
May not fit everyone perfectly
While there’s nothing quite like filler to plump up the under eyes, these masks are a notable at-home alternative. They infuse the skin with ingredients like ceramides to deeply hydrate and help the skin’s barrier retain that moisture. As a result, customers report smoother-looking under eyes after each use.
Key ingredients: Aquaxyl, phyto oligo, ceramides, collagen
Count: 5 x 2 patches
Amazon rating: 4.2/5 stars
An Amazon reviewer says: “Hesitant to try because they feel kinda gimmicky, but to my surprise, they were great! Has some great ingredients, and the gel-like material of the patch makes the difference as well. Under eye absorbs the product well, comes off so gently, and the next day, there’s no creasing of my under-eye makeup. Worth it. Definitely purchasing again.”

Pros
Sensitive skin-friendly
Comes with a lot of serum
Cons
Packaging not as convenient for travel
I don’t think there’s an editor at ELLE.com who hasn’t been convinced of the magic of snail mucin serums. The hero ingredient also stars in these eye masks, which are designed to brighten and hydrate the under eyes no matter your skin’s type or needs. Each container contains both big and small patches, so you can use them to treat every nook and cranny of your face if you so please.
Key ingredients: Snail mucin, niacinamide
Count: 60 patches
Amazon rating: 4.5/5 stars
An Amazon reviewer says: “I have these on subscribe and save and have had them delivered three times now. I have genetic dark circles under my eyes, and I don’t actually mind them as they’re pretty mild. However, when I’m tired, they are very prominent. Between my age (37), two young kids, working full time at a demanding job, as well as gut renovating an early 1900s home, it’s safe to say I’m tired. A lot. These are part of my morning routine. These are slimy, but I just run them against the rim of the jar as I take them out, and it gets the excess slime off. There’s still plenty of goo, but they don’t slide so much. They’re super hydrating, help massively with puffiness, and mitigate my dark circles some. They’re very soothing.”

When should you use under-eye patches?
“Eye patches can be worn anytime,” says Chung Park. “After regular skincare, before makeup to create a smoother surface for concealer and makeup application, before nighttime to relax and depuff eyes, on the plane, at your desk, or anytime you need a pick-me-up!”
But to get the most out of them, Gunn actually recommends applying them before bed. “Our skin undergoes a regenerative repair process while we sleep,” she says. “Make this part of your routine and wake up with hydrated, noticeably brighter eyes.” Her go-to method is to smooth on her eye cream and seal everything in by placing some patches on top.
How often can you use under-eye patches?
“You can wear them to bed, on the airplane, and on your lunch break,” says Gunn. “I have even seen fashion shows and beauty pageants where the models use eye patches while they are waiting for their turn.”
Additionally, according to Dr. Dara Spearman, a board-certified dermatologist and the owner of Radiant Dermatology Associates in Fort Wayne, Indiana, you can wear hydrating patches daily. But if the formula includes more active ingredients like peptides, retinol, and collagen, aim for two to three times a week. Finally, depuffing caffeine-infused treatments can be used up to three to four times per week.
